  • Strive purchased 1,800 BTC for roughly $143 million at an average price of $79,431 per coin, lifting its total holdings to 23,156 BTC worth about $1.76 billion
  • The buy comes alongside Strategy ending a two-month pause with a $370 million Bitcoin purchase and Bitmine making its largest Ethereum acquisition since June

Strive has added another 1,800 BTC to its corporate treasury, paying roughly $143 million for the tranche at an average price of $79,431 per coin, CEO Matt Cole announced on Monday.

Total Holdings Now Worth Around $1.76 Billion

The purchase lifts Strive’s cumulative Bitcoin holdings to 23,156 BTC. At the reference price cited in the company’s SEC disclosure, that stash carries a market value of approximately $1.76 billion.

Strive trades on Nasdaq under the ticker ASST, a result of its merger with Asset Entities earlier this year. The firm was initially co-founded by Vivek Ramaswamy. The latest acquisition follows an $81 million Bitcoin purchase the company made alongside a share sale, continuing a steady cadence of accumulation as it builds out its treasury.

Corporate Bitcoin Buying Revives Across the Sector

The timing of Strive’s purchase aligns with a broader wave of renewed corporate Bitcoin buying. Strategy ended a roughly two-month pause this week with a $370 million purchase, its first acquisition since June, after a price rally pushed its position back into positive territory. Tom Lee’s Bitmine separately made its largest Ethereum purchase since June, underscoring how treasury-focused firms have leaned back into accumulation as crypto prices recovered.

Bitcoin on Track for Strongest Month Since 2017

Bitcoin was trading around $78,600 on Monday, off slightly on the day but headed toward closing August with a gain exceeding 24%. If confirmed, that would mark the cryptocurrency’s strongest monthly performance since 2017.

Strive’s average entry price on the new tranche sits just above current spot levels, leaving the latest buy roughly break-even for now. The company is among a growing cohort of publicly listed firms that have adopted Bitcoin as a primary treasury reserve asset, raising capital through equity markets to accumulate the coin and tying their financial results closely to its price swings. The strategy was pioneered by Michael Saylor’s Strategy and has attracted a wide field of corporate imitators over the past year, though the approach carries meaningful risk given Bitcoin’s price volatility.

⚖️ Our Verdict ⚖️ Watch and Wait

Three treasury companies buying in the same week is real money moving, and Strive is now sitting on $1.76 billion of Bitcoin rather than a plan to acquire some. But all three bought after a 24% month rather than during the fall that preceded it, and Strive's average entry sits above spot already, so this looks more like a response to the rally than a conviction call ahead of one.
