SpaceX and Circle both sit among the 10 largest positions inside Ark Invest’s flagship Ark Innovation ETF, known as ARKK, according to a holdings report published on Thursday, following a fresh round of buying in both names.

Where the Two Companies Stand

SpaceX now sits as ARKK’s fifth-largest holding, carrying a market value of nearly $282 million and a portfolio weighting of 4.73%. Circle ranks eighth at approximately $233 million, representing 3.90% of the fund.

The two companies join Tesla, Coinbase, Robinhood, OpenAI, Bitmine, and Palantir among ARKK’s ten largest positions, reflecting Ark’s ongoing concentration in artificial intelligence, crypto, fintech, and adjacent technology names.

Scale of the Latest Purchases

According to Ark’s trading disclosure, the firm bought 181,830 SpaceX shares spread across four exchange-traded funds, including ARKK. It also purchased 273,343 Circle shares across ARKK and two additional funds. Based on closing prices at the time, those transactions were worth roughly $20 million and $17.3 million respectively.

Earnings That Preceded the Buys

Both purchases came in the wake of second-quarter earnings reports released this week.

Circle shares moved little after the stablecoin issuer reported $701 million in combined second-quarter revenue and reserve income, a 7% rise year over year. Adjusted EBITDA climbed 8% to $143 million. USDC circulation reached $73.3 billion, up 19%, while on-chain transaction volume surged 151% to $14.8 trillion.

SpaceX shares dropped 13.6% despite the company reporting a 92% jump in quarterly revenue to $7.8 billion. Investors focused instead on $18.4 billion in capital expenditures, which company executives said would fund expanded AI capabilities.

Ark’s Recent Repositioning

The latest round of buying follows a broader rebalancing Ark carried out in late July. At that point the firm sold shares of Bitmine, Robinhood, Block, and Bullish while simultaneously purchasing roughly $43.5 million worth of Coinbase and Circle stock and approximately $14.5 million of SpaceX shares.

⚖️ Our Verdict ⚖️ Watch and Wait

Ark adding to both names after their results is a real allocation decision rather than a press release, and Circle's USDC circulation rising 19% to $73.3 billion is the number with genuine crypto relevance here. But the market marked SpaceX down 13.6% on the same earnings and left Circle roughly flat, so this is one fund manager taking the other side of that rather than a signal that either business outperformed.
